Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws as well as the relevant NCCU policies and procedures is required of all NCCU employees and contractors. Corrective action will be taken in the event that any of these laws, policies or procedures is intentionally broken. Depending on the situation and the gravity of the infraction, different corrective action procedures may be taken, ranging from a verbal warning to termination. Additionally, NCCU mandates that incidents in which people suspect that such laws, policies or procedures may have been broken must be promptly reported.
The Compliance and Integrity Program at NCCU is intended to advance the university's principles and works to incorporate these values into short- and long-term choices about its business, research, and educational activities. The adoption of a compliance-focused culture by the university and the establishment of crucial objectives for achieving those objectives are prerequisites for the program's success at NCCU.

"Excellence is never an accident. It is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, and intelligent execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives — choice, not chance, determines your destiny.”
North Carolina Central University (NCCU) is committed to creating and sustaining a university-wide culture of compliance and ethical conduct. Compliance means not only abiding by the applicable laws, regulations, policies, and ethical values in the performance of obligations and duties, but also having various policies, practices, and procedures in place which support the coordination, management, and monitoring of these established standards.
While most humans have 20/20 vision, eagles are blessed with an astounding 20/5 vision. That means that what looks sharp and clear to us at 5 feet is just as clear to an eagle from 20 feet away.
At NCCU, our compliance program must not just look at the current compliance landscape but also look ahead at the compliance forecast of what is on the horizon. If we ensure the quality of the services we render is exceptional, no amount of audit or scrutiny will affect us. We will welcome reviews from outside regulators and auditors because we have established the Eagle Eye standard.

Our compliance calendar keeps track of all the compliance items for your department, their due dates and the associated information so that you will not forget any crucial deadlines.

All of North Carolina Central University's policies, rules and regulations (PRRs) are housed in one central location on the university's website. Departments and divisions are used to arrange PRRs (i.e., functional categories).
