The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is open to all currently enrolled master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation students. 3MT® is not an exercise in trivializing or "dumbing-down" research but instead challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. A panel of judges select the first place ($1,200), second place ($750), and third place ($500) winners. The audience will select an audience choice winner ($350).
