The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is open to all currently enrolled master’s thesis or doctoral dissertation students. 3MT® is not an exercise in trivializing or "dumbing-down" research but instead challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so that they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience. A panel of judges select the first place ($1,000), second place ($750), and third place ($500) winners.
