Purpose

To meet the parking demands of our growing campus, a single, unified request form has been established for both guest parking and special event parking. This centralized process streamlines request management and scheduling to ensure parking resources are allocated efficiently and not overextended at any given time.

Please review the descriptions below carefully to ensure you select the appropriate parking category for your request.

Special Event Parking

Special event parking is defined as requests for five (5) or more vehicles. Event-specific parking passes will be issued for designated dates and timeframes.

Special event parking is limited to:

  • Non-reserved parking spaces (first-come, first-served)
  • The Latham Parking Deck
  • The Nelson Street ParkMobile zone

Parking assignments will be determined based on the details provided in your request form and overall availability.

Individual Guest Parking

Individual guest parking applies to requests for one (1) to four (4) vehicles on a specific date and time. This includes interviews, guest lecturers, and other pre-planned, single-day visits to campus departments or entities.

Parking passes may be picked up at the Parking Services Office, located on the ground floor of Eagle Landing Residence Hall (408 Brant Street, Durham, NC 27707).

Visitor Parking and Advance Notice Requirements

Single-day guest passes are issued only with advance notice and completion of the parking request form. Visitors who arrive on campus without prior arrangements will be directed to use metered parking spaces.

Metered parking locations are available on the university website and primarily include:

  • Nelson Street ParkMobile spaces
  • The Latham Parking Deck

Departments with designated on-site visitor spaces must coordinate directly with their department to obtain a visitor pass for those specific locations. The appropriate decal must be clearly displayed in the visitor’s vehicle.

Designated visitor spaces may not be used by students or employees.

Fees

Pricing for parking passes will be provided by Parking Services upon receipt and review of the completed request form. NCCU departments and external organizations may request an invoice payable to NCCU Police – Parking Services once pricing has been confirmed.

Parking decals will not be issued until payment has been confirmed.

If you have questions about this process or do not receive an email acknowledgment within 24 hours of submitting your request, please contact Parking Services at 919-530-5023 or [email protected].
