Student Organization Service Project Guidelines

Service projects must have some element of direct or virtual service contact with the organization. While a community project may be done on campus, the activity must result in a direct or virtual encounter and a benefit to the community organization.

Note on collecting donations: When students collect donations, they should also plan an activity with the organization for which donations are being collected.

Project proposals must be submitted to OCES three weeks in advance.

Each OCES-approved event must have a critical reflection component to it.

Once a proposal is submitted to the OCES office, either the OCES staff or the organization's staff/faculty advisor should assist the ­­­organization in writing the critical reflection component.

All advocacy activities must be connected to social issues for which students can post a statement of support on social media platforms.

After the proposal is approved and suggestions modified, OCES will post the event in Get Connected.
