The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences will host a Poverty Symposium on October 10 in the BN Duke Auditorium from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.
This symposium will address how poverty impacts health and contributes to health disparities.
The Symposium is sponsored by the Kenan Charitable Trust Foundation and the Durham County Board of Commissioners.
Students are encouraged to submit abstracts on the various impacts of poverty on health. Cash prizes for the best abstracts will be awarded for first, second, and third place winners.
The event is open and free to the public.
