The NCCU Art Museum proudly presents "Selections from the Permanent Collection: Highlighting the Work of Elizabeth Catlett", a special tribute exhibition honoring the legendary artist and celebrating the 90th anniversary of her transformative teaching career in Durham.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity for both the NCCU community and the public to engage with some of Catlett's works, which vividly portray the strength, resilience, and cultural pride of the African American experience. Visitors will have the chance to explore a curated selection of Catlett's iconic pieces, which speak to her lifelong commitment to social justice, cultural identity, and the empowerment of women, alongside additional works from our permanent collection. The image shown here is Elizabeth Catlett's "Woman with a Guitar." The exhibition will run now through Sunday, March 16, 2025.
