Honoring Juneteenth in Our Courts

Join us for a program celebrating Juneteenth, including performances by the Black Angels ( St. Joseph's AME Church's Music Ministry), Empower Dance Troupe, and the One Voice Traveling Acting Troupe of Hillside High School.

In addition, Kristin Henning, Georgetown Law professor and author of "The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth," will discuss the importance of addressing and considering race and experiences of youth in the juvenile justice system. There will also be a panel that will include April Barber Scales of Emancipate NC, Yolanda Fair of the Office of Juvenile Defender, and Tenika Hall of the NCCU School of Law.

The panel will be moderated by Prof. Irv Joyner, also of the NCCU School of Law. The program will begin at 1 p.m. Please join us.
