The North Carolina Central University Criminal Justice Ambassador Club and Department of Criminal Justice is proud to welcome back three distinguished alumni whose leadership and careers have left an indelible mark on the field of law enforcement.
Jason Armstrong, Rico Boyce, and Patrice Andrews — all proud graduates of NCCU — will return to campus for an exclusive conversation reflecting on their powerful journeys from students in Durham to chiefs of police in major American cities.
Chief Jason Armstrong, a 2025 National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame inductee, is widely recognized for his transformational leadership in Ferguson, Missouri, where he led reform efforts under a federal consent decree following the tragic events surrounding the death of Michael Brown Jr. His career has been defined by courageous reform, community engagement, and national impact.
Chief Rico Boyce currently leads the Raleigh Police Department, bringing years of service, dedication, and a deep commitment to public safety and community trust to one of North Carolina’s largest cities.
Chief Patrice Andrews, chief of police in Durham, NC, brings her leadership full circle — serving the very community where her journey began. Known for her integrity and innovative approach to community policing, Chief Andrews is a beacon of leadership and inspiration.
Together, these accomplished alumni will share their personal stories, leadership lessons, and experiences navigating the complexities of modern policing. From overcoming challenges to implementing change, their insights offer a unique perspective on what it takes to lead with purpose in today’s law enforcement landscape.
Join us as we celebrate the power of Eagle excellence in leadership, service, and justice.
