The North Carolina Central University School of Education's Higher Education Administration Graduate Program invites you to the March 2024 Tuesdays Together National Speaker Series conversation with Dr. Charlotte P. Morris and Dr. S. Keith Hargrove, Tuskegee University's president and provost. The conversation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 26, 2024, from 12 to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Dr. Charlotte P. Morris began her current tenure as Tuskegee University’s 9th president on August 1, 2021. Her 30-plus-year tenure at Tuskegee has included numerous leadership and faculty appointments at the college and university levels. Her most recent prior appointment on November 1, 2020, as interim president was her third appointment to the university’s top post — the first having been in 2010 following the retirement of President Benjamin F. Payton.

S. Keith Hargrove, Ph.D., CMfgE, PE, M.B.A., CPEM, serves as provost and senior vice president of Academic Affairs at Tuskegee University.  He formerly served as the dean of the College of Engineering at Tennessee State University. As provost and chief academic officer, he is responsible for implementing the Strategic Plan 2021–2026, supporting faculty, promoting continuous growth in research activity, and ensuring a rich student experience.

Over the past 135+ years since it was founded by Booker T. Washington in 1881, Tuskegee University has become one of our nation's most outstanding institutions of higher learning. While it focuses on helping to develop human resources primarily within the African American community, it is open to all. Tuskegee University was the first black college to be designated as a Registered National Historic Landmark (April 2, 1966), and the only black college to be designated a National Historic Site (October 26, 1974), a district administered by the National Park Service of the U. S. Department of Interior.

The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Tryan L. McMickens, associate professor of Higher Education and director of the Higher Education Administration Program at North Carolina Central University.
