The Office of Community Engagement and Service currently serves six Durham Public Schools surrounding the university, referred to as the “Eagle Village” schools. In the spirit of Homecoming week, the "Power of Reading” needs all students, staff, faculty, administrators, alumni and community to amplify the University’s motto of "Truth and Service." The purpose is to model the value of reading.
