Military tuition assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend the university for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded.
In instances when a student stops attending due to a military obligation, North Carolina Central University will not assess a financial penalty on a student because of a withdrawal or leave of absence due to receiving orders for service. The University will also refund all tuition and fees paid for the academic term to the student or to the appropriate party. The University will refund payments made by the student (or on behalf of the student) to the University for housing costs such as dorm fees to the student or to the appropriate party.
When a student withdraws from the university for reasons other than withdrawing due to receiving orders for service or for reasons other than a leave of absence due to receiving orders for service, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.
North Carolina Central University will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided to the military branch as listed below.
