NCCU Art Museum Presents the Biannual NCCU Art and Design Faculty Exhibition

Date Published:

The North Carolina Central University community is invited to experience the creative scholarship and professional practice of its artist-educators as the NCCU Art Museum presents the biannual NCCU Art and Design Faculty Exhibition, on view February 10 through March 13, 2026.

Held every two years, this signature exhibition highlights the breadth, innovation, and interdisciplinary strength of the Department of Art and Design. The show offers students, alumni, and the public a unique opportunity to engage with work created by the very artists who teach and mentor NCCU students in the classroom.

The exhibition brings together a vibrant range of contemporary practices spanning fine art, graphic design, fashion, photography, printmaking, animation, video, and digital media. Across the galleries, visitors encounter works that explore history, culture, identity, technology, and the natural world through diverse materials and approaches.

Featured artists include Troy Brown, Myongsin Choi, Brenda Faison, Sebastian Frances, Brian Gonzales, Chelsea Grays, Kwame Hawkins, Gabriel Smith, Pankita Patel, Scott Singeisen, Virginia Tyler, and Charles Edward Williams. Together, their work reflects both individual creative voices and the collective strength of a department deeply committed to research, experimentation, and artistic excellence.

More than an exhibition, the Art and Design Faculty Exhibition underscores the faculty’s dual role as educators and actively exhibiting professionals—demonstrating how studio practice directly informs teaching, mentorship, and student success.

An Opening Reception will be held on Tuesday, February 17. Admission is free and open to the public.
