The Commencement Speaker Advisory Committee’s purpose is to actively engage the university community to seek suggestions and nominations for Commencement speakers. The committee is comprised of students, faculty, and staff. The speaker selection process begins more than a year in advance of each Commencement ceremony. The chosen speaker joins a long list of distinguished past Commencement speakers who have shared their wisdom, guidance, and insights with North Carolina Central University graduates.
Commencement speakers are selected to celebrate the achievements of the graduating class while inspiring graduates, their families, our faculty, and other guests. The speaker selections should enhance the ceremonies without deflecting attention from the graduates, whose academic achievements are being recognized.
