The North Carolina Central University School of Education invites the campus community to join in celebrating the retirement of Dr. Audrey W. Beard, who has served as dean of the School of Education since 2015. Her leadership, dedication to excellence in education, and lasting impact have helped shape the School of Education and the broader university community.
Please join us for her retirement celebration on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Great Hall at Turner Law School (640 Nelson Street, Durham, NC 27707). The formal program will begin at 3:30 p.m.
As we honor Dr. Beard’s dedicated service and leadership, we welcome the university community to come share in this special occasion and celebrate her legacy.
