The mission of the Facilities Operations Unit is to effectively and efficiently provide services that support faculty, staff, and students in pursuit of excellence in their individual and institutional, academic, research, and community objectives.  The goals of the department are directed at facilitating a proper environment to meet the current and future needs as set forth in the University’s Strategic Plan.  To this end, the department will strive to cooperate fully with all campus constituents to provide a functional and efficient facility operation for the University.  The Facilities Services Department is part of Facilities Management in the Administration and Financial Affairs Division.

Description

NCCU Facilities Operations, a subdivision of NCCU Administration and Finance, Facilities Management provides a wide range of services, including the maintenance and renovation of buildings, grounds and utility infrastructure of the campus. Facilities Operations ensures an environment conducive to the educational mission of the University by supplying reliable power, state-of-the-art classrooms and research facilities, beautiful grounds and environmentally responsible business practices. The department supports the campus effort to advance sustainability through waste reduction, recycling and energy management programs. Facilities Management maintains over 2.4-million square feet of State and non-state funded building space, 136 acres of hardscape, landscape, roadways, and utilities distribution infrastructure and manages construction projects up to $1 million in cost. The department is key to the Campus Emergency Response Plan and is comprised of more than 140 business operations and maintenance staff members. 

Work Order Center
We provide customer service via the Work Order Center (open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and via after-hour on-call services (7 days a week). You can reach the Work Order Center at 919-530-5225.

Motor Fleet 
Our state-owned vehicles can only be driven by university employees and must be used exclusively for official state and university business.
