October is breast cancer awareness month. The NCCU Julia Williams Davis Chapter of Colleges Against Cancer (NCCU-CAC) invites the NCCU community to wear something pink on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, to highlight and bring awareness to breast cancer.
Then, take a picture of yourself or your group and post it on Kudoboard to share with your fellow Eagles!
Breast Cancer Facts
- About 1 in 8 US women (12%) will develop breast cancer in their lifetime.
- Men can develop breast cancer; 2,550 new cases were diagnosed in men in 2018.
- Diet, exercise, smoking, and other lifestyles can impact an individual's risk of cancer, including breast cancer.
- Genes can matter: 5% to 10% of cases are thought to be hereditary. Know your family history and weigh your risks.
