With the Help of CEED, NCCU M.B.A. Student and Entrepreneur Named Student Visionary by Black Girl Ventures

Date Published:

With the help of the Center of Entrepreneurship of Economic Development and Success, Braxton Simpson, an NCCU M.B.A. student, was selected for the HBCU student visionaries cohort by Black Girl Ventures (BGV).

The BGV NextGen Program is designed to help young Black and Brown entrepreneurs launch their businesses by giving them access to various resources, including the capital. The students will have an opportunity to learn from experts in business and entrepreneurship, participate in hands-on workshops such as pitch practice and gain access to capital for launching their businesses. We know that these students are ready to make a difference in the world — and we want to help them do that.

Simpson's company, HBCU Linx,  was created to cultivate and encourage sustainable bonds of community through a Black relationship-building platform, invest in the growth and stability of HBCU attendees/grads between ages 21–30, and nurture and support all healthy Black relationships.

The North Carolina Central University's Center for Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CEED) mission is to create a culture of creativity and innovation among students, faculty and staff at NCCU and the broader community to spur entrepreneurship and economic development. The CEED fosters and contributes to the long legacy of the entrepreneurial spirit of NCCU by leveraging programs to support entrepreneurs with businesses in varying stages such as conception, launch and growth.

Special congratulations to her and all of the entrepreneurs selected for this program!
