National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (Oct 2025)

Date Published:

North Carolina Central University proudly joins the National Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign to promote safer online habits and strengthen our campus-wide security.

The national theme for 2024–2025 is “Secure Our World," reminding us that even small, everyday actions can make a big difference in protecting our digital lives. National Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to empower every American to strengthen cybersecurity practices both at home and in the workplace, helping build a more resilient nation against evolving cyber threats.

Do Your Part. Secure Our World.

Everyone at NCCU — students, faculty, and staff — can help protect personal and university data by following the Core 4 cybersecurity habits:

  • Use strong, unique passwords and store them in a password manager.
  • Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA) for your accounts.
  • Recognize and report phishing — don’t click suspicious links or attachments.
  • Keep software up to date — install updates and patches right away.

Why It Matters

Cyber threats are growing, but awareness is our strongest defense. By staying informed and taking these simple steps, we can each contribute to creating a safer and more secure NCCU community.
