Check out recent publication "Left Behind in the Age of AI? Potential Career Challenges for Criminal Justice Students at a HBCU," authored by Drs. Carol M. Huynh, Claude Maye, Pia Duncan, and Asha Ralph, along with graduate student Ms. Le'Monna Cox. The article, which explores career readiness challenges facing criminal justice students in an AI-driven workforce, is now available online.
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to shape all sectors of society, there is an increasing demand for AI literacy to ensure workforce readiness. However, disparities in exposure and skill development persist. Criminal justice students, particularly those attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), may face unique challenges in adopting AI technologies due to differences in academic focus and institutional resources. This study examines survey data from criminal justice majors at an HBCU to better understand their engagement with AI and potential barriers to developing essential technological competencies.
